Shooting
Interviews...
· Canon SLR Camera
· Tripod
· Lighting (specialist)
· Sound (mic)
· Interview questions, glass of water
etc (generic conventions)
In terms of camera and filming equipment for our interviews,
we will need to obtain a variety of things. First of all, we will need a Canon
SLR camera due to its high quality filming capabilities and ranges of
techniques it can perform e.g. pull focus etc. Coupled with a tripod in order
to provide the interviews with stability and give the overall footage a clean
look to it. These items are essential when shooting a documentary like ours
because it requires the best of the best in terms of practicality and what we
can actually get hold of. In addition, when conducting an interview, lighting
is key and the mis-en-scene must be lit – depending on what you’re trying to
achieve. The reason why lighting is so crucial is due to the importance and
significance it connotes to the demographic as it focuses their attention on
the interviewee. In order to execute this I have managed to get hold of
specialist lighting equipment – a 2K Blonde. Furthermore, another piece of
equipment is a microphone to enable good sound quality. I am a resourceful
person so I decided to test out the mic on typical iPhone headphones and they
work like a dream!
In relation to the set of the interview, props will include
the interview questions, glass of water etc. This is because these props connote
conventional aspects that the target audience will enjoy.
Shooting Reconstruction Footage...
· Canon SLR Camera
· Tripod
· Lighting (specialist)
· Sound (mic)
· Tracking
· Props may include: football, boots
Other equipment we may need when filming our reconstruction
footage (as well as everything mentioned above) are tracks to film are tracking
shots. Another aspect to consider is transport; a plan has to come into action.
Fortunately, one of our group members has a motorised vehicle so transport
shouldn’t be a problem. Also, props that may be needed for the re-enactments
are footballs, boots etc.
