Location
Recce
Stamford Bridge (Chelsea’s
stadium) located in Chelsea London, SW6. We chose this location because we
needed to capture realistic footage of football fans in their element; in order
to gain a meaningful insight into the tribal instinct that is presented in
football scenarios. We will achieve this
by purchasing tickets and entering the stadium ourselves. In addition, pre –
match, we will execute Vox Pops for our documentary. This is an effective way
of capturing snappy, quick and quirky interviews to engage an active audience. Although,
this location is perfect for what we’re looking for, it does present its
hazards. One of these hazards is down to the fact that it will be an extremely
congested area. The mass of people may initiate its own problematic issues, for
instance: sound quality may be affected and we would have to restrict our frame
to a tight one to avoid any distractions.
The regulations behind it do not
apply to us as we have contacted the firm and they have stated it doesn’t
matter – this is down to the fact that everyone else does it!
At our school (Overton Grange)
the facilities aren’t that bad and so we utilise this factor. The scenes shot
at school is for our model applying his tribal face paint in order to bring
stability to the linear narrative. There are no issues surrounding this
location and so this location is a very productive and efficient way of
shooting needed footage.
Another location that we will
conduct our documentation is at our local Police Station. We have chosen this
location to shoot at, as we need to obtain visuals – particularly cutaways –
that are relevant to our anonymous Police Officer interview. In order to gain
footage to break up the interview, add dynamics to the narrative, which will in
turn engage the demographic more sufficiently. These shots may consist of
visuals of an integration room, Police car and equipment etc. There are no
access difficulties due to our forward thinking, we have opened up a channel of
communication with a Police Constable who has informed us that it has been
approved.
Also, other locations will
include various local parks in order to shoot reconstructed footage. A Black
& White filter will be implemented over the top in order to give the
audience a sense and a feeling of the time back in the late 70s and 80s. There
are no difficulties at the park due to easily accessible parks near us and we
won’t go at prime times. If any problems arise we will deal with them promptly.
The last location we will be
documenting at is a studio in the heart of Central London W1. This will be an
excellent facility to use as it provides a good sense of disclosure and is
indeed perfect for conducting interviews. The anonymous and hooligan interview
will take place in this environment to optimise the experience the primary
audience will receive when viewing these tense interviews. As I’m a
well-connected person, I know people in London within the industry who have
offered to let us use the studio whenever we need to.
